Lalit Mehta

Mr. Lalit Mehta, Chairperson & Managing Director of Samrat Pharmachem Limited started his life journey with very humble beginnings. He was 12, when he lost the guiding star of his life & had to take the responsibly of his family due to difficult times. He started teaching younger students during his school & college years. He attained scholarships due to his performance & graduated with a degree in Science in the year 1959. He also pursued law & graduated in the year 1962. He opted for jobs considering his responsibility towards his family. However, he always had a dream of using his Science background & starting a business. After 7 year of work with various companies he accumulated some funds & with the permission of his family, he started his first business venture in 1969. The company had its factory in Andheri (East), Mumbai which manufactured small volumes of Petroleum Jelly & used to supply to Pharma Companies like Pfizer & Himalaya. Further the company grew in size over the years. In 1985 due to a lot of development in Mumbai city & new pollution control norms suggested that chemical & pharma units to be shifted outside the city. Mr. Lalit Mehta decided to shift his business by purchasing land in Ankleshwar, Gujarat which was recognized as a pharma & chemical hub in the year 1988 for future expansion & growth. He is a great visionary and under his leadership and guidance, the Company  has scaled to new heights in success.
